Name: Shaun Mason

Canon point of entry: AU ending, where Shaun is shot with the KA dart as intended instead of George, and dies minutes thereafter.
Is your character alive or dead at their point of entry into the game?: Dead
History of your character:
-Born Post-Rising (zombie apocolypse) and adopted by two journalists, along with a baby girl the same age, George, who was raised as his twin sister.
-Mason's lost their son during the Rising, adopted the twins for publicity. Twins are hugely neglected.
-Shaun and George, along with their friend Buffy, create their own web news organization. Shaun is an Irwin (think Steve Irwin), George is a Newsie (unbiased reporting.)
-They are moderately famous - have always been bc of their family, but also on their own right.
-Shaun, George, and Buffy apply to be a part of the media team to follow a presidential candidate, are selected.
-CONSPIRACY HAPPENS.
-Turns out the other presidential candidate is a part of a conspiracy. He gets Buffy to spy on the twins, then kills her when she decides to come clean. Zombies attack one of their campaigning stops. Someone makes the candidate's wife's horses amplify into zombies, and some of her family dies.
-Right as Shaun and George figure out what is happening, there is another attack, and this one is worse. The site is being quarantined. As they escape to their news van, Shaun is shot with a dart of live Kellis-Amberlee, the zombie virus. Knowing that he's about to amplify, he leaves the van with his guns, hopefully buying his team time by killing as many zombies as he can before eventually killing himself, to prevent becoming one of them.
Personality:
Shaun puts on a face a lot of the time. He realized at an extremely young age - around six or seven - that his parents didn't love him, or George. He tried to keep this from his sister, and to protect her. While he has just as many issues resulting from this as her, he got to be better about touching people (handshakes, hugs) because if he touched them, they wouldn't touch her. Same with making small talk or conversation. He is very sarcastic, likes to joke around with people and have fun, often can be accused of not taking things seriously.
He can have a terrible temper, though, and sometimes takes it out on other people. He tends to process his emotions through self harm, in the form of punching things until his hands bleed. He can also be depressive, though he often tries to deflect it with humor. He does care about people very strongly, but reacts to betrayal angrily and sometimes violently. He can be a great friend, and kind of an asshole. He's not good with relationships.
